Repulsive White Chocolate Cookie Bars
-
Oh, I was so disappointed by these.
Take a foolproof classic- like the Magic Gooey Cookie Bar– and screw it up colossally by trying to be fancy and adding shaved mounds of white chocolate to the top of the gooey sweetened condensed layer. Yes, I was trying to be smart by using up a block of white chocolate, and yes, I thought that these cookie bars were “the promiscuous ones” of the dessert bar world- accepting of anything, per se, but I was really wrong- at least in the looks department. Check the picture out, and agree with me that they are so not appetizing.
Funny, though- my standards must be low. I cut these fugly squares up into really small chunks and served them anyways.
(But really, if you want a legit recipe, check out the Magic Gooey Cookie Bars, and follow the ingredients listed.) (But I don’t want to thwart creativity, so keep messing around with the recipe- just tell me what works and what doesn’t. Either one will be of interest to me.)
(Because I’m tenacious and a little bit stubborn in the kitchen, I will try the “white” version of this dessert again. Imagine a little bit less white chocolate- and maybe in the form of chips instead of shavings- along with slightly toasted macadamia nuts? I had vision, dammit, but poor execution.)
