Lime Diseased Bars.
-
I know the name of this post is gross, but it pales by comparison to the grossiosity of the disaster that ensued in the midst of making my Key Lime Coconut Bars with Lime Glaze, a most excellent dessert, if I do say so myself.
This disaster deserves the name of a disease. A disease worse than lyme disease actually, which I understand is pretty unfortunate but not as bad as a the diseases where you can’t function on a daily basis. (Sorry to all the lyme disease people out there. I don’t mean to underestimate your plight while making my point that I suck. That these bars sucked.)
Here’s what happened: I didn’t pre-bake the crust long enough, so the limey layer seeped into the graham base and created a soggy bum of a bottom to the bars. And then I couldn’t peel the foil off the bars, which meant that I scraped the goo that was left and served it to The Husband in goopy blobs on a plate. Classy.
